New developments with Baylie

Baylie had an MRI today on her head. We have been dealing with several issues for a long time but one in particular keeps dragging Baylie down. Every so often she seems to get sick, she has gaggy spells and is listless and doesn't eat and just seems to sleep a lot. Lately she has begun to tell us her head, eyes and tummy hurt. Well today we found out why. According to the doctors she is building up fluid in her head, specifically spinal fluid in the sacks in her head (otherwise known as ventricles). She had a procedure when she was very little to hopefully relieve this, it was called a third ventriculostomy, to hopefully explain this its where they drill holes in the base of the skull to let the extra fluid drain out into the body. From what the doctors say this has failed and become occluded, preventing the extra fluid from draining away. Baylie will know have to have surgery to put in an actual shunt. A doctor will drill a hole in her skull and put a tube through the skull through her brain tissue into her ventricles, then they will connect another tube that will be surgically inserted under her skin in her head and then run under her skin to her abdomen. We have been fearing this day for a long time... I apologise for the graphic details but to fully appreciate the seriousness and depth of this its truly the only way to explain. Your prayers and wishes would be much appreciated in this hard time. As of right now we do not have a surgery date. We will keep you posted when we find out.
Baylie, Amber, Kinzie and Josh
